I was born and raised in Muskogee. I graduated from Muskogee High School in 1976 and attended the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!). I joined the army in 1983 and spent three years in Germany. While there, I finished my bachelors degree in information systems management. The army then sent me to Fort Belvoir in northern Virginia. After I left active duty I went to work in the Washington D.C. area as a computer programmer and lived there another two years. I moved back to Oklahoma in 1990 and went to work as a computer programmer for the Daily Oklahoman in Oklahoma City. I also joined the army reserve that year. In 2003 I met and married Debbie Fulton, Oktaha's math teacher extraordinaire. I continued to live in Oklahoma City for two more years, with one of us making the the weekend drive to see the other. In 2005 I was hired by Oktaha High School to teach math and science. And the rest, as they say, is history. I retired from the army reserve after a total of 33 years of service.
